Description
Want to set an amazing reading goal for you child? This reading challenge helps your child track his time reading all the way up to 1000 minutes.
We all want our children to be readers. How do we encourage them to read everyday? A reading challenge with a reward at the end that they covet dearly will do the trick. You have to pick a good reward. Something they really like. I mean 1000 minutes reading is an amazing accomplishment.
Sometimes we need to work on getting beginning readers to read or listen to books more. You could do this challenge all the way from kindergarten to high school. Just let the little people listen to audiobooks instead. Audible is a favorite here in Autismland.
Remember that any book will do, short chapter books, picture books, non fiction books, newspapers, magazines, you name it. All they have to do is be actively reading it. Even comic books count.
Make it easy on therm to pick up a book by strewing them everywhere. Strewing means you leave books and other things all around the house for children to pick up. I actually do this with my own reading stack so there is always a book to read when I get a chance no matter what room I end up taking a break in.
