The Great Leprechaun Invasion

Leprechauns invaded us while we were sleeping. They made quite a mess but left chocolate. Anytime you leave chocolate, all is forgiven. Always remember that! JoJo swears that he woke up at 3AM and saw them.  It was so cute.

Those naughty leprechauns used our very own toilet paper to make a web throughout the house. For little people, they sure can get toilet paper everywhere! All I can say is thank God that the toilet paper was free with coupons.

Fun note left by leprechauns

Apparently, leprechauns like to write notes too. Lots and lots of notes with clues about chocolate coins.

There is also a clue about our Cool Whip but the kids checked and said it was still sealed. The overwhelming consensus is that George the cat must have scared the leprechauns away before they had time to raid the Cool Whip. Thank goodness or we would be having leprechaun jello tonight sans Cool Whip. It’s just not that good without Cool Whip. Just my fat kid opinion.

After the coins were all found, we read a couple of books about St Patrick. We talked about how hard it must have been to leave his family again to go back to Ireland. God certainly blessed his obedience.

Rainbow waffles were attempted and eaten for breakfast.Logan declared that they really looked like play dough waffles. Corned beef and cabbage, our favorite meal, was put on to cook for dinner.

We managed to find Ireland on the world map after much bewilderment. Each child was then sent on their way to find out something about Ireland to share at dinner tonight.

After we went strawberry picking, we continued on with the leprechaun theme. with leprechaun jello for everyone. It was at that moment we discovered that Seamus is a crafty leprechaun who somehow enchanted the Cool Whip into turning green without opening it. Madison waited with great anticipation to see if it was green when we opened it as she was convinced that the leprechaun could jinx it without opening it. Many other theories abound about how he did this as we enjoyed our Jello.

JoJo who was just enchanted by the whole day. He is a year younger than Madison. He declared that it was awesome to be homeschooled and do fun projects. Everyone at The Rogers Academy agrees!
