Description
Lacing cards are a perfect portable way to work on fine motor and other occupational therapy goals. These Valentine lacing cards are perfect for holiday fun.
Here in Autismland, we print our lacing cards on card stock, laminate them, and throw them into a ziplock with a set of shoelaces (yarn works too). Then they go into a backpack or the car or wherever.
Lacing cards are a great way to keep kids busy while waiting anywhere. Logan tends to flick a pen back and forth while waiting so this is another way for him to get the sensory input that he needs without calling attention to himself.
When autistic kids become autistic teens or adults, stims become more apparent to others. Logan has become self conscious of other people’s stares. These help him be less noticeable but also get what he needs sensory wise.
These Valentine lacing cards have hearts and bears which makes them perfect for the holiday or really anytime. I keep these as well as our spring flower ones so Logan has a choice. He gets to work on occupational therapy goals without trying. That makes it a win in my book!
