Christmas In July Calendar

Christmas is my favourite season so you bet I was excited when my kids asked me to celebrate Christmas in July as part of  our 104 days of summer vacation.

Now part of autism is that change is hard. Christmas is not supposed to happen in July. To give Logan a better sense of control and to know what was happening I came up with this calendar. This way, he knows what activity is happening on what day.  Since he is older, he can decide if he’s up for that day’s activities.

I purposely made each day one activity only so it was doable.  I don’t know about you but I’m an over planner. I get these grandiose plans in my head like Clark Griswold from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. My husband always as to talk me off the ledge, so to speak.

Every activity is designed to be fast, easy, and with minimal prep or ingredients. The purpose of Christmas in July is to make memories with your children. You aren’t trying for the best holiday in the neighborhood. You’re simply making fun summertime memories with your children. You only get 18 summers before they’re adults.  Make the most of them!
