Description
Christmas is my favorite time of year. We have so many fun traditions that make my heart so happy. Watching Disney Christmas movies is definitely one of my favorites.
Some of the traditions began as accommodations to make Logan successful during this season of sensory overload. Autistic children want to enjoy the season too and should absolutely be involved in all the activities. Inclusion is far more important than acceptance.
Scheduling movie nights is a great way to build in downtime in what is usually an extremely busy month. It forces us to not make plans during that time and to sit together as a family. It also gives us a block of time to just sit and relax.
You can watch all these movie on Disney+ if you’re a subscriber. We are big Disney fans here in Autismland so counting down the days until Christmas with a movie list is a no brainer for us.
Having a countdown like this is a great visual for your autistic child. It will also keep you from answering the When is Christmas? question a million times a day. Every mom can get behind that idea.
Does your family have a favorite Christmas movie?
