One of the incredibly beautiful things about The Walt Disney Company is the way they transport you inside stories with their entertainment. Animators as well as Imagineers have spent decades representing our world from different cultures and geographic areas.
To do that, they went out and observed the world, studied it, then masterfully recreated it for us. Disney continues to transport its audience to new and exciting places, but now, they do it for real through Disney Cruise Line.

A Disney Vacation Unlike Any Other
Disney Cruise Line is the all inclusive way for Disney to entertain as well as educate its guests. Rather than manufacture themed lands to illustrate world destinations, they decided to take you to the real thing. Instead of turning to classic Disney storytelling to impart cultural knowledge, Disney Cruise Line sails the world from the tropics to the Pacific Northwest. The Mediterranean to Hawaii and now to Australia and New Zealand.
In connection with Adventures By Disney, Disney Cruise Line becomes part of an all-access guide to virtually anywhere on the planet. Backstage tours, exclusive events, cultural experiences with local storytellers, and nature excursions all enhance the travel experience. Meanwhile, Disney magic permeates throughout the cruise ships with characters, shows, clubs, and themed days at sea that exemplify the legacy of Walt Disney Entertainment.
What is the average cost of a Disney Cruise?
You can expect to pay between $300 to $600 per night per person (double occupancy) on Disney Cruise Lines. This includes everything except gratuities, alcohol, and excursions.
Gratuities are not optional, of course, but alcohol and excursions certainly are. You are always given the opportunity to stay on the boat or to disembark to explore on your own. We don’t disembark if the boat stops in Nassau and we decided on no excursions that stop. It’s a great way to rest and some on board activities.
Soda and juice are free and you are allowed to bring your own wine on board. Bring your own refillable cup because the free cups are small.

What are the names of the Disney cruise ships?
The Disney Cruise Line Features similar experiences onboard each of their ships. There are currently 5 ships sailing. Disney Wonder, Disney Magic, Disney Fantasy, Disney Dream, and Disney Wish. Three more ships are scheduled to join the fleet in 2024/2025.
Every ship has different restaurants and themes but all have on board entertainment, pools, food, and movies.
The Wonder and Magic are smaller ships that operate in regions like Alaska, Europe, etc. Places where the larger ships aren’t going to fit to dock.
The Dream,Fantasy, and Wish are larger ships with newer features and updated offerings in the clubs and restaurants. However, these larger ships stay primarily in the region of the Bahamas to stop for a fun filled day at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.
Each individual ship has a different character on the bow as their ambassador.

Disney’s Bahamas
The Disney owned Caribbean island is a tropical paradise with plenty of Disney flair. Crew facilities dedicated to conservation efforts embody Disney’s commitment to environmental issues.
The island features water activities, sightseeing, racing, games, barbecue and more with designated beaches for teens, families, and adults. There are excursions for fishing, jet skis, a 5K race with medal, and more. There is something to do for everyone.
Disney Imagineer Joe Rhode is leading the creative side of a new effort to develop a new Bahaman location for Disney Cruise Line guests to explore. The island of Eleuthera is the proposed destination for a new site that enhances and embodies the unique culture and environment.
Lighthouse Point will be a celebration of tradition and nature that will be fused with Disney’s unique brand of storytelling magic. We can expect an environmental focus like the upcoming Reflections Lakeside Resort at Walt Disney World, and a cultural focus similar to Aulani in Hawaii.

The Disney Wish
The next cruise ship has been added to the Disney Cruise Line fleet. It is the biggest yet and draws inspiration from Disney fairytales where wishes come true. Rapunzel is the chosen face for the ship and is seen on the stern, hanging by her hair and adding some finishing touches with a paintbrush.
There is a Frozen restaurant, Marvel restaurant, and all new things you can’t get on other ships. Its current itinerary has it in the Caribbean like the Fantasy and Dream. It’s a very large ship.
There is a great overview of what to expect on a Disney Cruise. In addition to more food than is humanely possible to eat, there are a ton of educational opportunities around every corner.
