Find an exercise that suits you

Not everyone enjoys weightlifting and not everyone enjoys yoga, and that’s normal. Whatever your fitness goal is and whatever exercise you enjoy the most, stick with your own personal journey and preferences.

For instance, you may worry about losing muscle and are looking for exercises you enjoy to gain or maintain your muscle. Instead of worrying about losing muscle mass, participating in body weight or weightlifting activity a few times a week will help you achieve lean and bigger muscles. Regular activity and body strengthening exercises will ensure to avoid losing muscle and instead, gain muscle for a leaner and more sculpted body.

If your aim is to lose muscle mass for whatever reason, then it is possible. Reducing your body strengthening exercising and swapping them with cardio is the key to that.

Practice self-care every day

Practicing self-care is essential for your health and wellbeing. Whenever you feel fatigued or stress, a self-care activity can help you relax and recuperate your energy to feel more alive and energized.

Self-care is not just about having a pamper session with a hair and a face mask, it is much deeper than that. Self-care activities should involve mindfulness so that you can achieve a sense of clarity and focus.

If you are stuck for ideas for self-care to achieve better health and wellness, here are some ideas:

  • Meditation: meditation is a great way to center your mind and focus on the present time. You can rekindle the love for yourself, relax your mind, and find a sense of calm.
  • Reading: reading is an ideal self-care activity to help you lose focus on the day and dive into a new world. You can lose yourself for hours in a good book. That will help you relax and de-stress. But, that doesn’t mean that you have to practice self-care for hours each day.
  • Socializing: although socializing may not feel like you are achieving better health or having time to focus and center yourself, it can benefit your health and wellbeing. Being stuck inside and talking to nobody can have an effect on your mental health. By getting outside and socializing with a friend on a walk can de-stress your mind and have great benefits for your mental health.
  • Earlier bedtimes: having an early night is a common and effective self-care practice. It can help you recuperate energy, switch off, and feel more energized, which will contribute to better mental and physical health.
