|Logan & Dad 2009|
As a special treat today, we watched Disney’s version of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Dickens is one of my most favorite (is it most favorite or favoritest?) authors. I have read all his books and I relish the day when Logan is ready to read them as well. He has already read an abridged version of Oliver Twist and we had some amazing discussions. I giggle with anticipation at the thought.
But I digress here. We were watching the movie when I remarked that it was very true to the book. One of the best renditions I had ever seen to be honest. After that comment, this conversation transpired:
Logan: Hmmm, seems like it would be a good book.
Me: Yes, it is one of my favorites by Dickens.
Logan: Maybe I’ll get it from the library.
Me: We have it on the bookshelf actually. It is one of your abridged books and we have the regular copy as well.
Logan: (rather excitedly) Is the original version in Old English?
Me: A little bit but not too bad.
Logan: I think I’ll read the original then.
Me: (smiling) I’ll get it for you.
Is there any wonder why the boy is getting a Kindle for his birthday next Saturday? This homeschool momma is still smiling!
