I just finished the Beth Moore Bible Study for Esther. I did it at church with a wonderful group of ladies that I didn’t know very well previously. My mom also attended with me which was a great experience. I enjoyed sharing it with her every week. The only bad part was that they had cookies every week and I ate too many of them!
At the end of this study, Rhonda (our group leader) said something that was life changing to me. She asked us to consider that God had placed us in our exact spots on our lives for such a time as this. It only makes sense if you remember that Esther became queen of Persia after a huge roundup of eligible girls. God granted her favour in the King’s sight so that she could save her people, the Jewish people, from annihilation. Mordecai reminds her that she has been placed there by God for such a time as this!
I am the mother of a child almost recovered from autism for such a time as this. God gave me those experiences and those feelings. I can use them to help newly diagnosed moms and to shine the light of Jesus in their lives. I have been granted God’s favour for such a time as this!
I have been trying for weeks to pretend that I don’t hear God telling me to start a respite program at church for parents with autistic children. I have gone through all the excuses and even pretended not to listen. Perhaps I need to get to work and do what God has put me here to do. Perhaps I need to accept my assignment and trust that He has me here for such a time as this!
