Everything You Need To Know About Homeschooling Autism

Don’t you wish you had someone to talk to that had already walked the path before you? That you could hear about their experiences and glean wisdom from them? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to homeschool your autistic child all the way through high school then graduate them with a diploma?  Is it even possible to homeschool my autistic child successfully?”

How can I teach my autistic child at home?

As with all homeschool questions, the answer to this one will be different for each of us. Just like every autistic person is unique, every family has changing needs, which can include homeschooling.  The majority of homeschool families find success in bringing their autistic child home to learn.

Their child is able to relax and learn in a way that works for them as well as at their actual developmental level. Many families discover that  homeschooling their autistic child successfully is easier than they think.

If you are just starting out homeschooling, the thought of keeping up with your child’s therapies plus teaching them academics can sound overwhelming. What if I told you it was possible to homeschool your autistic child from kindergarten all the way through high school? Better yet, what if I told you how to do it successfully as well as build a relationship with your child?

Setting goals and moving forward is within your grasp. Learning what to focus on and what to let go is really simple once you know how to do it.

I wrote this book in order to relay our homeschool experience in hopes that it would encourage you to do what I believe is the best therapy option for autistic children. It is always my hope that autism families would embrace out of the box thinking to help their autistic child live a successful  and happy life.

This is one of those ideas.  By homeschooling your autistic child successfully, you are able to fill in the gaps as well as move at their speed .

Your homeschool is not going to look like anyone else’s homeschool. It’s not meant to look like public school either. Your child will have needs and likes that other children do not have. This is true of all children not just autistic ones.

Confidence to homeschool can come from seeing what others did successfully.  This book hopes to show that homeschooling your autistic child may not be the easiest thing in the world to do. It will however be one of the most rewarding things you will do for your autistic child.

You keep going by building success upon success. always remembering that even slow progress is still progress.
