Celebrating Jesus with Angelfood

It seems only fitting that since we celebrate our birthdays for a week that we would celebrate the birth of our Savior for a week too.  We decided to celebrate Jesus’ birthday by doing an act of service every day for a week.  You know, be the hands and feet of Jesus here on Earth.

For our first day of celebration, we did two acts of service. We had our over achiever hats on that day.  First, we helped with the Angelfood deliveries for the month of  December.  Madison is the girl that runs the receipts back and forth to the tables.  Logan is the prayer request person.  He walks from car to car passing out prayer requests cards and taking back the completed ones. I am the special girl.  As in, I am in charge of the table where the special orders are located.  We do this every month.

Since we do Angelfood every month, we decided that we needed to do something more in order for it to count as our service in honor of Jesus’ birthday.  In that spirit, I got up early and made breakfast for the rest of the crew.  It wasn’t anything spectacular, just an egg casserole.  I wasn’t trying to show the kids how to be fantastic chefs.  I wanted them to learn to serve in His Honor.
