50 free Kindle Books for young readers came about as I planned Camp Cupcake. Camp Cupcake is when my great nieces and nephews join me for six weeks at my house. It is always a time when we do minimal homeschool activities as well as travel. I don’t want the children to push aside reading but I also can’t tote as many physical books as is necessary to keep their minds active. Free also allows us to use those funds for affording autism.

For young children, you really need some sort of tablet. Emerging readers like to look at pictures as they read so it’s imperative that you have something that will show them the pictures too. Here in Autismland, we start with Kindle Fires with Free Time Unlimited. This allows me to set controls on what they can and can’t do while on them. Let’s admit the obvious here that small children need guidance when given electronic devices. You can download the Kindle app to any electronic device for free.
