Three ways I bless my husband. No strings attached. They may not always speak his love language but it certainly makes me feel like I’m honoring him as the leader of our crazy family. They are really quite simple and easy. That means that I will get them done on a frequent basis.
1. Always Kiss Him Goodbye!
Seriously, this seems a no brainer. Every single time he leaves for work or leaves the house for any extended period of time, I kiss him goodbye. First, you never know when it may be the last time you see someone. I want it to be a happy memory if the unmentionable should happen. Second, this actually speaks his love language of physical touch so it has a dual purpose. Third, he’s super handsome. It’s a tough job but someone has to do it.
2. Adjust our schedules accordingly so we always see him before work
I have to remind myself when making our homeschool plans that it is his hard work and dedication to his family that enables me the privilege to homeschool. When he worked nights, the least I could do was to make sure that we were home sometime before 2:30 in the afternoon to see him off to work. Now that he works days, I try to have homeschool and chores completed before he arrives home at 3:30. I really try to have a family meal every day so he gets to hear the chatter of the children and see our smiling faces. Ok, we are not always smiling but you get the idea. It makes work easier for him if he remembers the family he’s working to support.
3. Wash & refill his cup for work
This probably seems super silly to you. He has a giant , probably 64 ounce, cup that he fills with Coke then takes it to work with him. He leaves it on the counter by the sink usually. This is to make it easy for him to find to wash & refill before work. I try to get it washed at the very least before he gets up . I don’t always get it refilled before he gets to it but I get it washed regularly.
These are three easy ways that I bless my husband regularly. Don’t get my wrong. I fail miserably most of the time. It’s my prayer that I bless him more than I fail him. Your turn! Tell me how you bless your husband!
