I have never figured out how everyone gets their weekly wrap ups done before the week is up. Perhaps they do them on Thursday night. As a fly by the seat of my pants girl through and through, that is not going to work at all. Usually, I’m trying to get everything ready for Field Trip Friday . The thought of doing a post late Thursday night stresses me out. Besides, I like to do my posts then let them sit for a few days before editing them. Gives me fresh eyes in which to see all my grammatical errors that need fixing so I don’t look like a blithering idiot. All this to say, I have come up with a solution that works for me. I am going to post what we did the week prior . Want to know what we are currently doing in the Rogers Academy? Don’t be a stalker. Seriously, I will be posting on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook in real time. Now that we have all that covered let’s get on with the wrap up, shall we?
Last week was an eventful week for the Rogers Academy. We threw caution to the wind and set out on a Disney cruise. The children jumped out of bed Monday morning to finish packing and loading the car. After a brief stop at the DMV (Who loses their license the weekend before leaving on a cruise? Yep, this girl.) to get a new license so I can board the boat , we set off for Port Canaveral. Lots of laughter were heard in the car on that trip.
We boarded the boat on Monday then disembarked on Friday morning. I have never eaten so much in my entire life. Salads for everyone for the rest of the month. It was without a doubt, the best family vacation we have ever taken. No phones. No wifi. Our biggest worry was whether we would be able to walk off the boat or if they would have to roll us off. JoJo ate about eight gallons of ice cream. Seriously. My gluten free kids were lavished with doughnuts, rolls, pizza, chocolate cake, lobster mac n cheese. You get the idea.
After the boat, we spent several days in Cocoa Beach with the same dear friends who joined us on the cruise. Albeit windy and a little chilly for our tasted, we managed some pool time along with some walks on the beach. It was on the beach that we found the washed up jellyfish. We didn’t touch him for fear that he could still sting us. That did not keep us from examining him quite closely. He made quite the interesting addition to our marine biology notebooks.
We returned home Sunday afternoon , fat and happy. We spent the rest of the day unloading the truck, laundry and just general lounging around, A perfect end to a perfect vacation.
