Making the most of the Disability Access Pass at Epcot is unusually easy. Like the other parks, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, the pass only covers rides not shows. Epcot does not have a plethora of rides to start but it is similar to Hollywood Studios in that it has a two tiered system for Fastpasses. This means you have to pick 1 fastpass from Tier 1 then 2 more from Tier 2. Of course, all the popular rides are in Tier 1.

Tier 1 :
-
Living with the Land
-

Meet Disney Pals at the Character Spot
Let’s break it down into doesn’t matter, get a fastpass or use the DAS. Epcot could certainly be a half day park as well if you go during a non festival time. You could most certainly make it a fun but not sun up to sun down entire day park during either the Flower and Garden Festival or the Food and Wine Festival. The former is geared more towards children while the latter is more for adults.
Doesn’t Matter:
-
Meet Disney Pals at the Character Spot . These are the same characters you can meet at Magic Kingdom. If you are walking by & need to meet Mickey, Minnie or Goofy then the wait is not usually terribly long.
-
Turtle Talk with Crush : Again, the wait isn’t terrible and there is plenty of stuff to do while you wait. If you have a huge Crush fan or need to use up your 3rd fastpass then by all means use it on this.
-
Illuminations: Reflections of Earth : This is the nightly fireworks show. It is visible anywhere around the lagoon. You can easily stake out a non Fastpass spot that will be satisfactory. I highly suggest any of the bridges but mainly the one by France.
-
The American Adventure, Reflections of China, Impressions de France and O Canada are all movies in their respective countries. The wait is minimal.
-
Kidcot Funstops are arts and crafts areas in each country. There is no wait usually. It is a walk up to the table to join in type of activity.
-
Gran Fiesta Tour starring the Three Caballeros is inside the ziggurat (looks like a pyramid) in Mexico. You have to walk all the way in for this Mexican version of It’s A Small World. The wait is short and it’s air conditioned.
-
Phineas and Ferb : Agent P’s World Showcase is a scavenger hunt using cell phones that they give you. It’s fun way to see the countries for children
-
Captain EO is the movie starring the late Michael Jackson. Most people are in this area to see the fountains but it’s still not a super long wait. There are things to do and see while you wait and it’s air conditioned.
-
Journey Into Imagination with Figment is just like Captain EO but shorter.
Use Your Fastpass:
Tier 1:
Test Track
Tier 2:
Mission Space
Spaceship Earth
Use Your DAS:
-
Soarin’ : Once you go into The Land, get your DAS time first. Then ride Living with the Land and see Celebration of Life while you wait. Then ride Soarin’ before you leave the building. It’s air conditioned in addition to there being a quick serve lunch area.
-
The Seas with Nemo and Friends : After leaving The Land , head down the hill. Stop at the bottom to send someone with the DAS to the left to get a time at Nemo. Then while you wait for the time, head to the right to see Captain EO and Journey Into Imagination with Figment. Take time to see the fountains in this area too. Your time should be up at this point so you can see Nemo. The rides takes you into the aquarium part where Turtle Talk with Crush is as well.
Tips for kids with sensory issues:
-
Ear plugs or Noise Canceling Headphones
are a must for all parks
-
Sunscreen, sunglasses and lots of water to drink. There isn’t a ton of shade in this park.
That’s the entire park in a nutshell. After Nemo, you can go over to the other side of the park to Test Track and Mission Space. We like to get another time for Spaceship Earth at this time as it’s Logan’s favorite ride in this park. While you’re over in the Mission Space area , check out the Universe of Energy. This is also where the festival centers are located.
There are plenty of fun play areas for little people as well as entertainment going on at all times in the countries. This is a great park to recover from a hectic day at Magic Kingdom . The World of Coke is not to be missed when you are thirsty either. It’s a great place to taste Cokes from around the world for free. One thing to note is that while the park usually opens at 9 AM , that is for Future World only. The countries don’t open until 11 AM. There is more than enough to do in Future World to pass the time . Be forewarned that everyone will be located in this area. We like to show up after the entire park is open so that the crowd has time to disperse in a bigger area.
